CPSO WINTER STORM UPDATE
Lake Charles, LA –
As the predicted winter storm approaches, the Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office wants to assure residents that we are prepared to ensure the safety and well-being of our community.
“While winter weather like this is uncommon in SWLA, I want the parish to know we have taken proactive measures to ensure our deputies are equipped and ready to handle calls and emergencies during this possible historic weather event,” stated Sheriff Stitch Guillory. “We are strategically deploying patrol deputies throughout the parish, equipped with four-wheel drive vehicles, and supplementing extra deputies on the roads. We will also have numerous deputies on standby throughout the parish should the need for them arise. We encourage residents to prioritize their safety during this time. Please avoid unnecessary travel during this time and take the precautions to protect your homes and families from the cold weather.”
The Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office will be closed for all non-essential offices on Tuesday, January 21 and Wednesday, January 22, due to the inclement winter weather. The Sheriff Sale scheduled for Wednesday, January 22 has been canceled.
