CPSO INVESTIGATING BICYCLE FATALITY

Lake Charles, LA –

 

Last night, July 24, at approximately 8:45 p.m. Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office deputies were dispatched to High Hope Road near Ash Drive in Sulphur in reference to an accident involving a motorized bicycle and a car.

           

The initial investigation revealed Wesley A. Henry, 31, Lake Charles, was riding the motorized bike in the middle of the roadway on High Hope Road.  The driver of a car hit Henry from behind.  Henry was pronounced dead at the scene.

           

The fatality is still under investigation.  In accordance with Louisiana state law, standard field sobriety testing was conducted on the driver of the car, and impairment was ruled out.        

           

CPSO Sgt. Kerrick Gabriel, Jr., is the lead investigator on this case. 

 

An arrest is an indication that probable cause exists to believe the subject was involved in the offense alleged.   A person is innocent until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt.
