Lake Charles, LA –
On July 23, Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office deputies were dispatched to a local hospital in reference to a rape complaint.
During the investigation, detectives were advised Joseph R. Perry, 45, Lake Charles, had sexually abused a family member under the age 12. The investigation revealed the abuse occurred on multiple occasions since 2023.
After further investigation, Perry was arrested and booked into the Calcasieu Correctional Center and charged with 1st degree rape. Judge Kendrick Guidry ordered he be held with no bond.
CPSO Special Victims Unit Detective Jeff Atkinson is the lead investigator on this case. The investigation is continuing.
An arrest is an indication that probable cause exists to believe the subject was involved in the offense alleged. A person is innocent until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt.
