CPSO ARRESTS CONVICTED SEX OFFENDER FOR INDECENT BEHAVIOR

Lake Charles –

On June 13, detectives with the Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office Special Victims Unit received an indecent behavior complaint regarding a convicted sex offender.

During the investigation, detectives learned Carey B. Sollay, 47, Lake Charles, was having sexually inappropriate conversations and sending explicit photos of himself to what he believed to be juveniles.  The same day Sollay was located and questioned by detectives at which time he confirmed the allegations.

He was arrested and booked into the Calcasieu Correctional Center and charged with indecent behavior with a juvenile and computer aided solicitation of a minor.  At the time of his arrest, he was in the custody of the Bureau of Prisons, housed at a local work release facility.

In 2021, Sollay was convicted of possession of child pornography in Lafayette.

CPSO Detective Sonny Schiro is the lead investigator on this case.

An arrest is an indication that probable cause exists to believe the subject was involved in the offense alleged.   A person is innocent until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt.
