The Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office is hosting a hunter education field day on Saturday, June 22 from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. The field day will be held at the Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office Regional Training Academy, located at 3958 Mallard Cove in Lake Charles.
This field day is offered to anyone 14 years of age or older, who has completed the online hunter education course. You must have completed the online course in the last full calendar year (365 days). After completing the online course, you will receive a voucher that must be printed, signed, and shown to the field day instructor when you arrive. You will not be allowed to attend if you do not have your voucher. During this day students will complete an in-person test and live-fire exercise. CPSO will provide firearms and ammunition so students should not bring their own.
