Lake Charles, LA –
On July 24 at approximately 7:00 a.m. Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office deputies were dispatched to a home on 9th Avenue in Lake Charles in reference to an armed robbery.
When deputies arrived on scene they were advised by the victim that his roommate’s son, Michael E. Malbroux, 25, Lake Charles, along with another man, entered the victim’s room through a window and held him at gunpoint. The suspects threatened the victim and stole his money, keys, and cell phone before fleeing the scene.
Detectives attempted to locate Malbroux but were unsuccessful. After further investigation detectives issued a warrant for his arrest, signed by Judge Tony Fazzio in the amount of $180,000 for charges of home invasion; armed robbery; armed robbery with the use of a firearm; and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.
If anyone has any information on Malbroux’s whereabouts they are asked to call CPSO at 491-3605.
The investigation is continuing and more arrests are expected. CPSO Violent Crimes Detective Barrett Savoie is the lead investigator on this case.
An arrest is an indication that probable cause exists to believe the subject was involved in the offense alleged. A person is innocent until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt.
**Update: CPSO VCIU detectives have now confirmed the car driven by the 17 year old had been stolen from a residence on Liles Lane in Lake Charles earlier this morning.
