CPSO CHARGES MAN WITH TWO COUNTS OF BURGLARY OF A PHARMACY

Lake Charles, LA –

On February 16 and again on May 11, Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office deputies were dispatched to a pharmacy, one on Highway 171 and one on Ryan Street in Lake Charles, in reference to a burglary.

During the initial investigation detectives learned the suspect shattered the glass on the front doors of the drugstores and made entry inside.  Once inside the suspect was able to enter the pharmacies, at which time he stole prescription medications and then fled the scene.

After further investigation, detectives were able to determine one suspect was responsible for both pharmacy burglaries.  Detectives later identified the suspect as Brandon M. Hamilton, 39, Baytown, Texas.  On September 27, CPSO detectives issued warrants for his arrest.

Hamilton, who is currently incarcerated in Liberty County, Texas on unrelated charges, is charged with theft from $1,000 to $5,000; theft less than $1,000; 2 counts of simple criminal damage to property $1,000 to $50,000; and 2 counts of simple burglary of a pharmacy.  His total bond is set at $102,500.

CPSO Detective Jill Feverjean is the lead investigator on these cases.
