On June 14 Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office deputies were dispatched in reference to a rape. During the initial investigation the victim advised detectives she was raped by Michael J. Handy, Jr., 25, 2960 Lake Street, #410, Lake Charles, a couple days prior, while she was at his residence.
A short time later detectives located Handy at his place of employment, and after speaking with him he was arrested and booked in the Calcasieu Correctional Center and charged with 2nd degree rape. His bond is still pending.
