CPSO ARRESTS ONE OF THE SHOOTING SUSPECTS IN THE IOWA SHOOTING

 

Lake Charles –

 

Around 10:30 p.m. last night, CPSO deputies spotted Robert J. Handy’s maroon Ford F150 pickup truck that was seen leaving the shooting on P. E. Daigle Rd. in Iowa on Sunday morning.  The truck was in a parking lot of a closed business on Swisco Rd. in Sulphur.  When deputies approached the truck, Handy took off from the parking lot with deputies pursuing him for about 5 miles.  Eventually Handy went off road around E. Burton and Smith Rd. and both he and his passenger bailed from the truck.  The passenger was apprehended but Handy was able to evade capture. 

 

From information received in the investigation, detectives determined the passenger, Kenneth M. Pattum, 27, Jennings, was the other suspect that was not initially identified in the shooting on Sunday night.  Pattum was arrested and charged with 2 counts of attempted 2nd degree murder; and resisting an officer by flight.

 

Judge Michael Canaday set Pattum’s bond at $1,302,000.

 

Handy is still at large.  A warrant has been issued for him for 2 counts of attempted 2nd degree murder.  Judge Canaday has set his bond at $1,300,000. 

 

CPSO detectives are asking for the public’s help in locating Handy.  If anyone knows the whereabouts of him please call CPSO lead detective Roland Jones at 431-8015 and leave a message if he is unable to answer the phone -  or call 911. 

 

Handy’s maroon Ford F150 pickup truck was recovered from the scene last night.
